A lighter preform for a water producer
Preform weight cut from 12.5 g to 10.8 g, saving sixty tonnes of resin a year.
A new neck finish and wall thickness were calculated for the 0.5-litre bottle. Laboratory tests showed strength unchanged.
Scope: new mould, trial batch, testing on the client filling line, move to series production.
